This report provides an overview of Canada’s trade, investment and aid relations with Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries. Canada’s foreign policy towards the region has focussed on the establishment and improvement of trade relationships, increased opportunities for Canadian investment and the provision of more aid. While the report focusses on Canada – LAC relations, it also details basic elements of Canadian assistance and foreign policies, including thematic and country priority areas, and the roles of different Canadian agencies and ministries responsible for delivering development assistance.
