After spending over a decade living and volunteering in developing countries, Rachel repatriated to Canada and deepened her commitment to assisting vulnerable populations by obtaining a degree in International Development and Globalization (University of Ottawa). Since then, she has worked on large multilateral events – Canada’s G8 MNCH Muskoka Initiative and the Arctic Council’s Sustainable Development Working Group – and has been a fundraiser, event coordinator, and program and research assistant at development think tanks and non-profits. Rachel continues to work with children with special needs, and provide support to the families that were an integral part of her life in Rwanda and South Africa.
