Canada’s Trade Flows

Canada’s total bilateral trade in goods in 2012 was approx. CAD$ 913 billion, while the balance of trade (exports minus imports) was –CAD$ 4.1 billion. Canada’s bilateral trade is highly concentrated both regionally as well as among income groups. North America, Europe, and East Asia together account for about 90% of Canada’s total trade. High income countries account for around 80% of Canada’s total trade.

Economic Relations Between Canada and Latin America and the Caribbean

This report provides an overview of Canada’s trade, investment and aid relations with Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries. Canada’s foreign policy towards the region has focussed on the establishment and improvement of trade relationships, increased opportunities for Canadian investment and the provision of more aid.

Beyond Aid: Trade, Investment, and Remittances between Canada and Developing Countries

This report provides a sense of Canada’s development footprint beyond aid. It does this by drawing on data from The North South-Institute’s Canadian International Development Platform (CIDP) which comprises the most recent data on aid, trade, investment, and migrant remittance flows between Canada and developing countries.
